Frequently Asked Questions
If there is something I haven't covered elsewhere on my website do drop me an email with your question and I will add it to this list (link at the bottom). These are answers to some of the logistical and practical questions I am often asked about homeopathy and my practice. I hope it helps.
How do I schedule an online homeopathy appointment?
Book directly through the "Book" link on my website. Consultations are held over video call, and the first appointment lasts an hour.
Where can I find a homeopath near me in Scotland / in Crieff?
I'm based in Crieff, Perthshire, and see clients in person there, at Westbourne Medical Studios in Glasgow, or online anywhere in Scotland and the UK. You can also search the Find a Homeopath directory (findahomeopath.org) for registered practitioners near you.
Is there homeopathy available in Glasgow / Central Scotland?
Yes — alongside online consultations, I see clients in person at Westbourne Medical Studios in Glasgow.
How do I find a registered homeopath?
Look for membership of a recognised body such as the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths or the Society of Homeopaths — both maintain public directories. I'm a member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths.
How does an online homeopathy consultation work?
We meet over video call. The first session lasts an hour and covers your full case history; I then select a remedy suited to you individually and post it out, usually within the week.
Where can I get personalised homeopathic treatment online?
Every consultation I offer is individualised — there's no standard protocol. I take a full case history and select a remedy suited to you specifically, whether we meet online or in person.
Can I have a homeopathy consultation from home in the UK?
Yes — consultations are available online by video call anywhere in the UK, alongside in-person appointments in Crieff and Glasgow.
Is homeopathy effective for chronic illness?
As a registered homeopath, I'm not able to claim that homeopathy treats or cures any specific condition — that's a standard advertising restriction that applies across the profession. What I can tell you is how I work: I take a full, individualised case history for every client, looking at the whole picture rather than treating a named diagnosis with a standard approach. If you're considering homeopathy alongside your existing care, a free 15-minute call is the best way to talk through whether it's a good fit for you.
How do I get homeopathic support for a chronic condition in Scotland?
I work with clients on an individualised basis, taking a full case history rather than prescribing for a named condition. Homeopathy is used alongside conventional medical care, not as a replacement for it — I'll never suggest stopping anything your doctor has prescribed. Book a free 15-minute call to discuss whether this could be a good fit alongside your existing treatment.
What happens if I can't make my appointment?
With two children, two dogs and living deep in the countryside I have had more than my fair share of needing to change appointments at the last minute so I am very understanding. Other people charge for missed appointments but so long as folk don't make a habit of it, I would rather try to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.
Do you do telephone appointments?
As a homeopath I use a lot of non-verbal information to create a picture of someone to match it to a remedy. The more clues I have the easier it is to get the remedy right first time. In person is best, a video call is pretty good but I understand sometimes a phone call is all you can manage. It's amazing how much can be gained from someone's voice - so I'm happy to do phone appointments if you understand I might not get all the information I need first time.
How will I know if my homeopathic remedy is working?
Homeopathic remedies are selected based on the similarity of your symptoms to those which would be caused if you were exposed to the substance in its original form. At your follow-up - usually a month later - I look at your energy, sleep and mood alongside the symptoms you originally brought to me, to build a picture of how things have moved.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Occasionally if you have a visible symptom somewhere obvious it can help to show it to me, so consider what clothes would make that easiest. You can always send me a photo if that's easier. If the photo is of your child or is somewhere personal, then a description is enough. I often suggest you take photos for yourself to keep in order to monitor progress. It is best to take these in the same light so remembering to take them in the same room at the same time of day is helpful.
