Women
I love it when a woman says "I feel like myself again". Homoeopathy can offer a gentle solution to the problems encountered by women. Menstruation, pregnancy, birth and the menopause are uniquely female events which can bring with them often uncomfortable symptoms. When the hormones are out of balance, it makes it hard to function and as women we often have a long list of people who depend on us for support. I have a picture my kids gave me that says "Mums are like buttons - they hold everything together". I am here to help hold you together.
Menstruation
A normal period should last about 5 days with 1-2 days heavier flow. Flow should be manageable with little pain and should not affect the way you go about your daily life. Excessive outpourings of either blood, sweat or tears are believed by some to be the body’s way of trying to re-balance itself and menstruation can have us suffering from all three. I take a full case history to understand your individual pattern before selecting a remedy that is the closest match to your symptoms. If you want to read more about how I can help with this read my blog on Painful Periods.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy brings its own physical and emotional demands. Symptoms are often not taken seriously as they usually pass when the pregnancy ends but nine months can seem an eternity if your pregnancy is making your life unmanageable. See my blog on Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I take the same individualised approach here as with everything else: a full case history, a remedy suited exactly to you, and adjustment as things change. As someone who suffered from HG myself, if you are going through this and would like my support - I offer this for free. To book an appointment select the free call and mention this in the notes.
Birth
Both mother and baby can be supported by homeopathy. From the physical recovery after the birth to those big adjustments in the early weeks. I take a full case history around feeding, sleeping, settling and the wider adjustment to motherhood, and select remedies most appropriate to your individual case. Having been through that newborn stage myself I understand how helpful it is to be able to contact someone outside of normal hours and try to be as available as I can for new mums.
Breastfeeding
I am passionate about helping women through the often difficult first years and breastfeeding can be a big issue for some. Wanting to keep up to date with the latest guidance on how to help women breastfeed and the nutritional and medical discoveries of the benefits I started volunteering with Breast Buddies Perth and Kinross. Read more about this in my blog.
Menopause
This is the time when women can finally be free from the monthly cycle but too often it is replaced by a range of new challenges: Night sweats, hot flushes, sleeplessness, increased anxiety, memory loss, brain fog, mood swings, headaches, irregular periods, hair loss, aches and pains and a lack of energy are all our body’s way of finding its new equilibrium. I take an individualised approach here too, working with your specific pattern of symptoms to find the remedy that's right for you.
